Need to borrow, rent, or buy - big Nomex

We've got full-sized options for our refueler for the Longest Day but need some equally full-sized fire retardant jammies: 6'4" + 325# 44" waist 32" inseam 60" shoulders 22" neck ...or thereabouts. Let me know if you've got ideas. Thanks! Kirk Edited for the other big(ger) guy's...

ITB seat available for VIR 13

In short order, we have lost one of our drivers to a change in plans and had the two on our waiting list make arrangements to drive for other teams. This is kind of the nature of the game so we need to find another person who'd be a good fit in the Conover Motor Sports enduro operation...

Ouch - WTB (another) 4.25 final drive

It's a long, sad story (and MY fault, I think) but when we broiled the clutch diff in the Golf, it got scalding hot and the case appears to have grown enough that the steel parts quit hanging out where they should inside the aluminum parts. The net result is that I hurt my nearly brand-new 4.25...

Want to crew at the Longest Day?

The Conover Motor Sports team is looking for folks interested in coming along for the return of the Longest Day 24 Hours at Nelson Ledges, Aug. 24-26. Since it's a long one (and some distance from home for us) we need to shore up our regulars with some pick-up talent. We could particularly use...

Still looking - used MkII or MkIII Koni Sports

I need a set of good (unbent) KONI Sports that fit a MkII/MkIII Golf or Jetta. I'm going to have them revalved so high-miles guts are no problem. They just need to be unbusticated. K

NC peeps - Conover corner weighting!

Cameron and I scaled the Golf last night with their new electonic pads. VERY COOL STUFF. If you are in/around the Triad, this is another handy-dandy option. Probably have them in the "Conover Compound" at the SARRC/MARRS...? K

Got a tire hook-up? Wanna do the Longest Day?

Unfortunately, due to a schedule conflict we won't be enjoying the support of PhilsTireService.com for the Longest Day 24 hours at Nelson Ledges, the last weekend of August. However, that presents an opportunity for someone with a friendly relationship with a tire manufacturer to buy a ride...

    Vote for Pablo

We've thrown the Conover Motorsports hat in the ring for the GRM/cardomain.com Ultimate Track Car Challenge at VIR this summer. Participants will be selected by GRM staff from submissions to cardomain.com, and Pablo's page is at http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2561041 if you want to visit - and...

    ITCS Virtual Library

About once a month, I kick myself for not hanging on to my copy of the first ITCS, published when the category was new. I think it would be fun to build an index of who has what years of the rules, so if we need to do any delving into history, we can. Chime in with what you've got. And if you...

    VIR Enduro in February

If you've got $800, the necessary mad skilz, a license, and a butt narrow enough for a Recaro SPG, you should come run the VIR NASA enduro with Pablo and me in February. It's going to rain and we're going to contend for an overall win. :happy204: K

    Jan Coffey??

My wife was reading one of the pot-boiler paperbacks that she devours while I'm ready my "guns 'n bombs" pocketbooks in the various coffee shops, when she asked, "Isn't the North American Road Racing Championship a real thing?" "HUH? No way." Turns out that a scene in her current book - Five...

    ITB & ITC Candidates?

Anyone have shop manuals or other documentation to support requests for listing some cars that might fit in B or C? The most recent in B is the '87 non-GTS Corolla and FX, so it seems that there should be something out there that fits. How many generations of Corolla have there been since then...

    Looking for 020 final drives

The gearbox failure we had at the VIR 13 was the output shaft busting in half... http://itforum.improvedtouring.com/forums/...?showtopic=9700 ...so I'm shopping for new final drive gears. That was a MkII diesel gear and I would like to go lower. Anyone got any bits laying around? K
