Rumours, innuendo and results from NHIS.

So??? What's happening up there?? I'll start it off. TGA (the Greg Amy) is in Jeremy's Acura teg-r today testing and has spun a dozen times in his own oil that is spewing everywhere, from the overflow or something. (A quart per session) OK, part of that isn't true...it's just a nasty rumour...

    Remote res.dampers...your opinion...

OK, we debated the legality and our thoughts on the RR damper thing...lets get some numbers. For the sake of compactness, I left out lots of words. Assume choices 1-5 are for the standard IT allowable 2 way passive design. Please indicate your choice, and heck, if you don't like the choices...

    PM settings

It's been brought to my attention that it appears that the PM settings in everyones user profile were set to "Off" when teh board switched over, and while our host was going to see if he could reverse that, it seems as though that hasn't happened. So....double check your settings and set as you...

help me out..define the "look and feel" of IT.

So in the other thread, we've discussed the concept of adding a narrow range of Mustangs and Camaros into ITR. V8 versions, that is. Now, it's a proposal that has seen some interesting response, and since it's winter, I guess, it's share of controversy. I've seen arguments from people that...

    OT: Supercar Design Project-

I know this isn't even racing related, but as a guy who has worked in the prototype field, I came across this and it blew me away. And many of us have dabbled in some form of fabrication on our race cars, so we have a clue as to the degree of difficulty of this project. Even as it stands, the...

    NASAs H&NR rule

If you didn't know, NASA just jumped in the SFI pool even deeper with their Head and Neck restraint rule requiring a 38.1 standard meeting device. (HANS, R3, etc,) which essentially takes what many believe is the best unit, the Issac off the shoulders of racers. Up fronty, I should point otu...

What is up with Mazda vs SCCA???

And something is rotten, it appears, in Topeka. Here are some relevant quotes: Dear MAZDASPEED Motorsports Development Team Member, Now that the 2007 racing season has concluded, I want to thank each of you for your efforts this year. The results speak for themselves: * Five SCCA...

    Results, rumours and inuendo...

OK, I'm jonesing to be in Atlanta, but due to a house closing and bad timing, can not. So, who's heard what? So far I've heard that test day dawned cold...really cold, but times were fast . A Moser was reported in the 42s in ITA. (um, that's a fast time folks. Draft assisted? Not known)...

Strategic Planning and "The Problem with IT"

I thought we'd spin this off as it ws getting pretty big picture. Synopsis: Wings...good idea or bad?Bill Denton points out that they do have the advantage of atracting the younger crowd, which is needed..... Kirk comments on the need for any organization to do strategic planning... Travis...

Best practice for sealing 3 piece wheels

I have a set of 3 piece wheels that are rather old, but straight, and very light. But they leak like a fish net. So, I will pop them apart, and clean and reseal them. Any hints? What should the sealant be? I called Tire Rack and they suggested silicone. I agree that it might be a good choice...

Sears Point Regional pics from March 31st.

Not sure how many IT guys check in here, as it seems pretty slow, but i was visiting the area and stopped by and watched practice and qualifying. It was great chatting with some of you. Anyway, I tried to snap a pic of every bonafide (not douple dipping ITA Miatas) IT car. If you were there, and...

    Why lock the "Happy" thread?

Well, just curious why the Happy thread got locked?? Seems odd. Other than a compliment to the ITAC, nothing seemed too controversial! ;)

    Racing on the left coast

I happened to be in SF on the same weekend as the SF Region hosted their season opener, and was lucky enough to get up to the track to watch qualifying and meet some of the guys. I thought it might be interesting to share some observations and pics. 1- Miatas miatas and more miatas. They are...

    jeep towing..

I have the driveway from hell. I need to back by enclosed trailer off a narrow street, and into my 9' wide drive that is bordered on one side by my neighbors fence, and the other by my house, and keep the trailer straight for over 50 feet. And the drive is sloped and gravel. This task brings...

    Links in the chain...

As many of you know, I volunteer for the club on the ITAC. And you also probably know that I'm pushing for a new ECU rule. That has made me think long and hard about rules writing, and how it should be done, and how it actually is happening, in the context of the bigger picture. Or, how the...
