It seems like it is always the little things.....
One of the freeze plugs is out of the 12a that I am preparing to install. I bought a used motor and when it arrived, the lowest freeze plug on the back housing was sitting on the pallet about six inches from the hole. I stuck my finger in, and there was a bit of rusty goo but not too much. I pulled as much out as I could with the tip of my finger and intend to flush the rest out. The guy I bought it from said it has not been stored either with water in it, or where it could freeze. Of all the things that I have done to my race and street cars I have never had to replace a freeze plug - and I don't see in any of the manuals that I have instructions for installing them. I assume they are a fairly simple press fit? Is any adhesive or sealer used to hold them in? Anybody out there with some experience want to clue me in?
Thanks - Boswoj
