I'm in the process of buying a new 80 RX7 which has been fairly well set up as far as parts go, but am having some issues with the front suspension. The car has Tokico 5 ways and Ground Control coil overs and camber plates. The new rotors and bearings are said to be 80 spec... which means the adjustable bearings.
Now my questions... I'd like to upgrade to the 84/5 rotors/big bearings. Are the spindle stubs swapable with some modifications or do I need to buy some new 81-85 5 ways?
That leads to my next question. Here's some background:
I can't seem to find any part #s for the 79/80 Tokico 5 ways and they've been discontinued.
Mazdacomp states that for their coil-over kit: "Recommended for use with 1981-85 strut tubes. 1979-80 tubes are longer and should use spacers under cartridge, or cut and shortened"
The car I'm buying has some 1" spacers under the camber plates therefore raising the camber plate and lowering the car. Is there a chance that this has something to do with the 79/80 tubes with a 81-85 strut insert?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
