'92-95 DX Hatchback racer?

Anyone out there successfuly racing a 1992-1995 Civic DX hatchback? Is this a good platform to start with? Any thoughts on car set-up, updating/backdating of parts (e.g. DX to SI updates, etc.)? Thanks for any input.
