944 Question

I'm not at all familiar with Porsches at all so forgive me if this question seems elementary. I run ITS with a different make of car but I couldn't pass up the deal on the'84 944 I now have in my driveway to bomb around in. The car has a small oil leak and it seems to originate from a canister that is mounted on the passenger fender well. It has two flexible lines running from underneath it. It has a plastic screw on/off top with a dipstick. It has the letters ZE on top. Is this a catch can? The oil pressure gauge is buried full on, I am assuming it is broken. Any help would be appreciated. I have looked in a Haynes service book but couldn't find anything. Thanks.

It isn't an oil reservior, of that I am sure.

I guess (a bad thing!) that it is more probably a power steering or brake fluid reservior. But thats just a guess.

To find our, wait for Geo or Chris Camandella, among others, or go here: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/index.php?s=

PS reservoir, very common, leaking hoses underneath... also, another possibly useful online forum would be rennlist.org...
