Aftermarket sources for injectors......

I found these guys:

It says their injectors are re-cond blue printed oe. A total set is about $315, verse ~$630 or more for a set of new oe bosch injectors:

I know there may be potetial class legality issues, same as the motor mounts, but I'm looking for a way to cut costs legally. Don't sugest using the ones in the motor now, unless you think RC injection makes direct oe replacements:blink: BTW, I'm also replacing the intake and fuel rail, as the manifold was from a M-50 too.

On the surface, no problemo'!

However, it depends on what "blueprinting" actually is, in this instance.

The bottom line is if they meet factory specs, (per the equivalency rule) you're good to go.

So as long as they're a ~19lb/hr injector, I should be good to go?
I'd think the biggest benifit to blue-printing would be getting a set that flow the same, with a uniform spray pattern.

Funny, my first car had bad injectors. They would fire hose because I had the pump go bad. The motor was on permenate rich just to run, and it's flow so much gas the oil would get deluted. My dad finally got enough money for new injectors, and just that one change, the car always started great after that and the gas mileage improved too.

We use their injectors anytime we need them and have never had a problem. They conveniently have large Denso bodied injectors so that's mainly why we use them. However, the product and service is always top notch. Would also recommend rceng.com

Hey Chris,

I already have a set of RC's, but I'm not sure they're legal as they might be a higher flow rate injector than stock, so shouldn't I change them out for something more stock like?

I'd say to be legal you would need to. And in all actuality a higher flowing injector is probably hurting your performance if you haven't compensated for the added flow since most OE fuel systems are setup pig rich under wot. And if you have compensated for the added flow then there was no need for a higher flowing injector.

Both Marren and RC should be able to source exact replacement injectors for just about any application. That's what I should of said in my post. :)

James, just get a set of stock injectors and send the out to be balanced. Period, end of story & you will be legal.

That's the set that are $107 each from Pelican, which is like $642 even before sending them out for balancing. I suspose I could try used, but.... I understand that salvage yards don't like to break motors sold down into parts. It was hard enough to get the correct output flanges, I had to buy a spare differential. For ~$600 I could probably buy a whole running motor with the injectors already in it, but it wouldn't be blueprinted or balanced.

I sent my used injectors to Russ Collins when I first built my 325 and he tested them and then blueprinted them. When I put them in the motor one was bad and I had a miss fire. So I bought a new Bosch injector and took it back to Russ, he checked it and it flowed as well as the best "blueprinted" one. I'm tempted to think that if you bought six fresh injectors you would be as well as the best case with blueprinted injectors.

Hey James... The injectors should be readily available off bimmerforums or E46fanatics from anyone who has supercharged their car (and therefore upgraded the injectors). Below is the cross-reference list off realoem. If you are anywhere near Dinan or VF Engineering in CA (too lazy to look at all three locations) they may have some take-offs from install jobs on customer cars. Otherwise a quick search on car-part.com should yield some breaker's yards that have them.

Hey John,

I know that I've heard that Bosch injectors are top-notch. When I went to the dyno shop to tune the ECU, Richard Clewitt asked me what kind of injectors I had. When I told him RC injectors his reply was, "Oh......" I could tell by the tone that wasn't neccessary good, so I asked him what his experiences with them were. He told me there were issues with the fuel trimming and getting balanced flow from them, but it's what I've got and so I've been running them. Putting the car back togeather allows me the chance to change that though.

Great Idea Andrew, I'll try the guys on BF. Maybe I can make some money on the manifold and injector swap by selling the M-50 once I get the M-52 manifold on the motor and running.
