Another wiring question

Have read all of the posts on the sticky.....

Did a search here and on rx7club.com......

Still unsure so I'm asking for a bit more help, please bear with me.....

Pos battery cable wired correctly to the MDS (master disconnect switch)
Wire from battery that powers the main eng fuse panel is wired correctly to the MDS
I have decided to disconnect the power to the ECU in lieu of dealing with depowering the alternator (field wire, something-ohm resistor, six-pole switch needed {I have a 4 pole})

The OE wiring diagram shows 2 power wires going to the ECU. The W/L wire comes straight off the 30A fuse on the panel in the eng bay. As I said that panel is already wired, so in theory, power should be cut once the MDS is shut off. The second B/W wire comes off the ignition circuit from the key switch.

OK, the actual question....

Should I use the B/W wire to depower the ECU with the MDS? Is that preferable to doing the alternator? (which I would rather not deal with). Can anyone think of any unwanted consequences?

This wiring stuff drives me batty! I would much rather pull trannys, suspensions, and paint interiors than deal with wiring issues. Alas, it's just another step in the "journey". I hope to get the gauge/switch panel finished this weekend.

Thanks in advance.
