Atlanta Machine Shop Recommendations?

Now that Barrett's Performance has closed its machine shop, I'm looking for a new shop for basic machine work. The closer to Decatur the better. I used Will's Machine Shop in Chamblee in the past and they were recently recommended. I've also used Dover Cylinder Head for a valve job and I see that they have moved to College Park. Any recommendations would be appreciated.

You may want to try talking to Robbie at Chastain machine shop in Jonesboro.I belive he has done work for several of the top 240's in ITS and ITA .I dont have the phone number on hand if you need it just ask.

The only place that has done work for the "Top" 240Z's in ITS in this area is Sunbelt Performance Engines in Sugar Hill. 770) 932-0160. Everybody else is a backmarker.

I normally just read, not write but... I have to suggest Chastain Racing Engines also. Robbie has been doing our motors for the last few years and we have always had good power and not one single DNF from engine related problems. My car is a 240SX not a Z but he is pretty familiar with Nissans. Good Luck

I'd have to agree with katman on Sunbelt. If you already know what you need machined, Scott's Auto Machine in Fayetteville is a good choice as well. Jim at Sunbelt recommended them to me when I needed some non-racing machine work done. They milled the head on a 944 turbo for me (minor head gasket leak) and it came back better than new.

Sunbelt is now Balanced Performance Motorsports

I'm doing my own rebuild. Yes, I'm a backmarker, but a backmarker with beer money.

Nope. Balanced and Sunbelt are separate companies who are right next door to one another.
