building 944s

From what I hear, it's HP......gotta have it.

The chassis is great out of the box, improvements can be made but are marginal. As for HP, there's one name: John Milledge Engineering. He's local to you. Thats the good news. The downside is, for various reasons, the technology involved in chasing 944 power is pricey. Less cyliders than an E36, but more dollars than a Sunbelt E36.

Break out the piggybank, AND the IRAs!

Kip Van Steenberg, and Chris Cameadell are two NE guys with spotless cars. Top notch spare no expenses deals. I will be badgering them for info when I decide to do mine, thats for sure.

Milledge has a book, like Jim Suskos RX-7 set up manual for 944s for $100.....

Russ Jones is selling his 944S. He's in the Boston area I believe. Good car, fairly fresh, runs up front and can not be duplicated for what he's asking.

Although, I think a 944S is one of those cars you could run with a good stock engine and have some fun with (from mid pack). I ran my stock 83 944 (with 143 HP, no lie!!) in ITS. Got my butt kicked but ran 1:05s at LRP with Kumho's. I'm sure Dave Gran would run it stock!!

Plus, you have the coolness factor!! :023:
