Could someone please break down the IT classification for 92

I am having trouble deciphering the table on the SCCA web page, since it seems to be very incomplete. So, could someone please tell me where the following model/years are classed for IT?

All 92-95 HB: CX, VX, DX, Si

Thanks!!

I certainly asked my share of "too cheap to buy the GCR" questions in the last year, so I am glad to help out. From the '02 ITCS:

92-94 Si - ITS at 2230#
94-95 EX Coupe - ITS at 2305#
92-95 DX (3 & 4 door) - ITA at 2330#

From March FasTrack News(http://www.scca.org/news/fastrack/02-03.pdf)

92-95 CX (HB) - ITC at 2170#

The years don't always make sense because only the specific ones requested by the original submission are included - technically, you could not race a '95 Si in ITS, for example... You might not be familiar with the whole process but it takes a petition by a member to get a car listed and the competition board just says "yes" or "no" and defines the race weight, without really worrying about listing other years or models that might fit logically with those requested (e.g., DX Coupe).

Seems we are the only three people who respond to 92-95 Civic Questions? (Kirk, Matt and I)...
Kirk, don't forget 92-95 Civic EX 4-door is also listed as a ITS Car. At least that is what Sven and Aaron has told me!

Why is the 92-94 Si HB at 2230# and the 94-95 EX Coupe at 2305#. The HB is a much faster car than the Coupe, so why would it be lighter? I do not understand SCCA's Thinking Process? I guess that is why I am still thinking about Honda Challenge!

I hadn't heard about the EX 4-door or the other DX's and only went by what I could find in print. The CB really ought to make that little extra effort and list other variations of the car and all of the "generation" years, when they do the original math. Or require that the person submitting the request do so?

Dude - do NOT get me started on race weights again!

I was thinking Of racing a DX, but it's performance is the same as the CRX, IF it weighed what the CRX weighed...

So, K, what are your views on the way the SCCA comp board figures out weights?

LMAO!

Thanks for the info, guys. The reason I asked is because I'm trying to decide between building a EG hatch vs. a CRX Si for IT and SOLO II. Ideally, I could find a good, mostly stock CRX Si in my area, but there aren't too many. I figured in the meantime I'd see how the hatches were classed to see if any of them were competitive.

"too cheap to buy the GCR" LOL! It's on the way, heh.

Great gif. I do AIX systems administration and I have a number of users I can send this to.

Thanks

Thanks - wish I could tell you where it originally came from. My wife sent it to me (she works as a technology/curriculum coordinator for a school district). I think of it as the PEBCAK graphic. The acronym is pronouned "peeb-cack" and stands for "problem exists between chair and keyboard".

Have fun!
