Yeah - not so easy with the 1.5. The dang crank never clears the bottom of the block. We need to make an angled one for Mathis' motor.Originally posted by racer14itc@Jan 20 2006, 06:00 PM
No, I make a template for each crank/rod combination I use to get it as close to the crank as a I can . Typically I allow .030" of clearance to the scraper. Then I send it to Kevin at crank-scrapers.com and he makes the scraper to my template.
The off the shelf ones have more clearance and will help some, but the custom made ones are even better.

Quick question. Do you use an extra oil pan gasket with those? Right now we use a ABA windage tray in our 2.0 ABA. A scraper would go on top of that, but then I suspect one needs another gasket to keep all the oil in?

Yep, I use three pan gaskets on my setup. Just need extra long pan bolts, easily obtained at various suppliers.

Oh yeah? I tried to GIVE Chuck a polished 1.5 crank with matching scraper...he wasn't interested.
