Starting the smack a little early...I see that the "racer formerly known as Hollywood" is entered with the Silver Bullet. I guess it was a hiatus, and not an actual retirement:shrug:

It should be a fun weekend. No Irishman..YET.

I might have to go just to see THAT!!!

Seriously, I'm chomping at the bit to go, but funds are tight, and I still can't figure out if my 3500 rpm stumble/header glow means too rich or too lean. Too rich I can deal with, too lean...YIKES!!!

Will probably be there either way though.

NO WAYYYYY!!!!!! Hollywood back in the bullet??!!

Can you believe it.:o With the same motor you built way back in...
1997!!!
Not a misprint. Can't wait. Just hope nothing falls off.

Miss you man.

A huge thank you has to go out to my good friends Jim Cohen and Jay Besch for making her pretty again.:happy204:

Chris, your car looks like a race car now. Why don't you push it out onto the driveway and take some pictures. At least we could see it instead of just hear about it.:)

O.K. Jim, is this what you were looking for?

Hollywood, You'll have to look in your rear view mirror to see it.

Sorry Chris, I had to throw that out there. Marc does have a point though. I've heard about you building that car for a couple of years and I haven't seen any evidence that it's not really a New Beatle. :)

If you do take that new toy out to Daytona, I hope you take it all back home on Sunday afternoon the same way it looked when you brought it over. Have you had it out yet? If you did, I missed that weekend. Good luck, hope you make it to the track.

Sorry, its raining right now, so you'll have to settle for in the garage.

I'm ready....the car and the funds, not so much.

Maybe I get one in this year, maybe not. Some things have to be prioritized right now.

Sweet Ride

Chris, That's a really nice looking hot rod. :happy204: Those wheels look really nice. What are they?

Looks like you'll have a little work to do to dig it out of the garage when the time comes. I hope you get to run it at least once this year. If not Daytona, then maybe the Spooktacular in Sebring.

Best wishes to you in your new ride.

Thanks, Mike. No worries, I could have that baby out of the garage in 5 minutes if needed! Can even drive it around the neighborhood if I want to, just not quite ready for the track.

The wheels are Borbet Type S that I got from Tire Rack a few years back. Don't know how much they weigh and don't care...they were $69 ea. on closeout!!! I love a deal!

Wow that car looks alot different from the last time i saw it...even though that was like 8 years ago lol! Car looks good Bro! Is that the spitter leaning up against the wall in the front end shot? When you roll it out to shoot more pics throw the splitter on for all to see!

Duece keane 1st all 3 races ITB.The #39 rocket in ITC all 3 races, followed by the suprising #70.Hutto #18 3rd all three races.

ITS Irish mike MB walked away in all 3 races.

Thats all i remember.

my first time there...but had a mechanical during the first race...
It sure is a HP track. Thus, the class winners all tended to handle really well down the straights.
I saw the ITB accord passing ITA cars on the banking:o

That ITB accord is a well preppred car. I wan tto say he was running in 25's? We are hoping to help Dave Loper(sp) get his ITB accord to as close to that level as we can with about half the money.

I had a great time working the chicane insted of driving....it sure helps watching the fast lines through there.

Tim,

Thanks for standing on the other side of the fence so we could play. Quite an interesting view and learning experience, huh. You should work T17 at Sebring too. I learn allot working the Pro races and watching the best.

How about that group 1 front ITS pack.:happy204: Us Mazda guys had nothing for that Benz but we sure had fun 2nd through 6th. How did the pic of my son on the side of my car look at 90 mph?:D

Sure felt good to be back in my car after two years.

Thanks again to you and all the workers that make the weekend possible for the drivers.

For my first time out, I had a fabulous time. Even though I broke my car (clutch master went, and a CV joint boot). I learned a lot this weekend.

Really enjoyed watching the last race Sunday. The ITS group has quite a even group minus the Mercedes. 2-3 in the last race had maybe two car lengths between them the whole time till Scott pulled out with trouble on the last lap.

I have some good pictures and would love some constructive criticism of my in car video once it is up. I know there are a few moments that I screwed up in.

quadzjr you have David's name spelled right. And yes we need to get his car back on the road. Hurts me that he is not out there.

Derek

Marc, did you get to do some driving?? Awesome man!

We may make another journey down that way next year.....can you guarantee me another 10 second drop in lap time?

Seriously, glad you got out and had some fun.

That was definately the most fun I've had in a while. Even considering my little "bump" into the T1/pit out wall. Thanks to everyone who didn't T-bone me while I was stopped, cross track between T1 and T2. Good, clean racing within our group.

Tim, thanks to you, and everyone else that makes these weekends possible. It takes an enormous amount of work, planning, communication, etc. to make everything go smoothly.

Jeff, Marc better not guarantee you another 10 seconds...If he does, either he isn't being honest, or we are all in trouble. :eclipsee_steering:

Jim, I came very close. I was watching another car that went off in turn 1 and was coming back on very fast. Once I was sure he was clear, I looked ahead and there you were....I really had to juke to the right to avoid you. That was some pucker factor for me for sure, I can only imagine what you must have been looking at while you were parked there.

So what was up with T&S? They gave me a track record on Sunday am with a 2:21.2. I checked on my laps, and just last month Andrew Charbonneau ran a 2:20.849, and Paul Ronie was running 2:20.0. I knew it was not possible, not yet for me anyway. What is the actual ITA track record?

Haa haa, thanks Jeff. After finally getting back on the track after 2 years and seeing for myself the small changes, I might say 1-2 sec drop. The times were insane. I'll let you see them for yourself when they are put on MyLaps but they may depress you.:)

Russell, don't quote me but I think the region is keeping Regional records for the Regional series. SARRC, ECR and National are Divisional/National series. Just a theory.

You did great man. Put a brake bias on that thing. They really make a difference.
