Dirt cheap catch can?

Cheapest I've seen is old oil bottles. I like using Summit plastic coolant overflow bottles. They have a drain petcock which is nice. Find a generic valve cover breather filter and pop it in the hole you drill in the top of the bottle and you have a pretty nice setup for about $20.

If you want something a little more pretty than a used plastic oil container, you can goto Target (or where ever) and get one of those heavy duty plastic drink containers that are meant for sports.

I can NOT believe nobody has said this yet...

The WASHER bottle!

Jeeeez...can it GET cheaper?

;)

Actually in a buddies 2002 thats exactly what was done, the ground for the washer pump was pulled off to stop accidental oiling of the windshield. As for the golf, its location is in a crush zone so I prefer to keep what little oil I might blow by away from being spilt for no reason.

I actually use my washer bottle to hold what is commonly referred to as washer fluid. Yup, I've used it in the race. Now I've adjusted it so it hits the windshield of the car behind me. Maybe I should fill it with something other than washer fluid. :P

Sounds perfect for an oil catch can.

I've seen where a guy has gone to a bicycle store and bought a bicycle water bottle and its matching holder cage thingy. Then they mount that holder right to the fire wall or something, slide the water bottle into it, cut the tip off the top, and jam a hose in there. Works just fine, actually looks relatively clean, and the bottle has a good, solid mount that's easy to remove. Just another idea.

thanks for the input, I decided to shell out the $20 for one of these can
should have it in a few days.

also, must I do the same for the transmission vent as well? put them both in the same can?

Im so antsy about getting the car teched for the first time.

my Fiat came with a Mobil 1 oil can stuffed under the ignition module. the Honda came with a factory installed catch can... errrr the washer bottle. a great use of a stupid rule.

hoop

I know the rules say nothing about being able to remove it. The rules also do not mention that it must work.

:014:

wait a minute, do I have to have a horn? working?
[/b]

Well, the rules allow alternate steering wheels. My alternate wheel does not have a horn button.
