I've got a '85 ITB Dodge Daytona. It's not fast

(yet!!) but I'm still sorting out the car and the driver.

There is a fast Plymouth TC3 (Steve Hoffman) that races at Summit Point. I talked to a couple of guys who were racing an ITA Shelby Charger at one Summit Point race last year.
There was an ITB Charger 2.2 at Pocono a couple of years ago.

It wasn't quite an IT car, but there was also a F Prod GLH (limited prep) that also raced at Summit Point. It was for sale and I haven't seen it lately.

I'll email what I know about the other cars. In the meantime, check out the MARRS/SARRC VIR photos posted in the NorthEast Division IT Forum. #0135, 0575, 1035 & 1358 are of Steve Hoffman's TC3.

The GLH is owned by Walt Michael of New Jersey. I saw it advertised for sale 2 weeks ago.

I tihnk there's a lot of untapped potential in the Dodge 2.2s. I raced them in non-turbo and turbo form in Showroom Stock, and I built an ITA Shelby Charger in the mid-80s. Lots of torque, and a fairly simple car to modify...

Count me in! I have an ITA 83' Shelby Charger, getting new frame rails and a cage. Drivers' Schools done, target date of 7/31 for first race at Mid-Ohio.

Greatest thing about cheap spares is that I get to practice doing something to an engine on a stand before I have to work on the engine in the car!

A friend had a GLH back in the late '80s and it always seemed that the biggest challenge was dealing with an induction system that was somewhere in the gray area between a tunable carb and a really well-developed electronic FI system. It always seemed to have vacuum leaks, idle or mixture problems, or other tunability problems. Of course, he monkeyed with it...

My biggest problem with the Daytona (which is throttle body injection) has been getting the mixture right. All of the guys reprogramming Dodge ECU's seem to be doing the turbo cars for drag racing.

Unfortunately, Daytonas only came injected (unless there was some obscure option I don't know about). If I'm reading the GCR right, you can't convert an injected car to carb unless that car was also available with a carb.

I really need an L-body, don't I? I can run the carb and it's 300 lbs lighter!!

I have a Dodge 2500 4x4 Turbo Diesel, quad cab, short bed, tow vehicle. I love it. Get 16 mpg towing the Wabbit. I had an 1986 Ramcharger before that.

Do you know what DODGE stands for?
