Driver killed at Gingerman

my understanding is that he went off driver's left in the new section at the SE end of the track and struck a corner worker's stand there.
 
That's too bad. GingerMan is supposed to be one of those tracks built with safety in mind. But that is no matter as things can and do happen. Am curious as to further details.
 
The driver who passed away, Bill Rowe, was a friend of mine. Over the years he had instructed at a number of Ford club on track events at Gingerman. I was sent an email by a mutual friend that suggests that Bill may have suffered a heart attack or something like this that caused him to lose control and impact the corner station. I was also told that the impact alone should not have been enough to cause Bill's death. But who knows?
