E-36 OIL COOLER

Such luck! I just got a call from a customer that is bringing in a 525 that has an oil cooler for an engine swap this weekend. We will pull off the housing and I should be able to answer your question early next week.

If you are inquiring for ITS useage, I don't think an oil cooler is needed. I have run in very hot conditions (>100 F), and the oil temp hasn't exceeded 220. Under more normal temps, it hovers nicely between 180-200.

Maybe others have different experiences.

I agree. Also, I can't help much. The 525 that came in has a filter housing for the oil cooler without a vanos fitting - I have no idea what it originally came from!!!
