Hey hey. Over in europe they use the "G" Grind cam in the 8v A2 engines right?? I thought I sa w that some where that that is what they come with stock and that they have a european distributor curve thing to get better HP. Would these two things be legal at all???
Second. The A3 8vs came with balanced auxiliary shafts and the A2 8vs didn't. I went to http://qualityvwparts.com and they have balanced auxiliary shafts for like 25 dollars or seomthing with your core. Are these legal??
Last thing I think. Once again, at qualityvwparts.com I cam across a different, sort of kind of, short shifter, if you wanna call it that. Go to the website and take a look at it. All they did was shorten the actual shifter parts, the part that the shifter knob screws onto. So would that technically count as a short shifter since it doesn't mess with any linkage what so ever and just shortens the "Actual" shifter as opposed the the linkage adjustments. I think he sells that for about 25 dollars too. It says that it is short enough to reduce about 30 percent which would be nice.
So..... basically, is it legal to make our 8v engines into European spec engines?? If not then what happened if you imported a already stock made engine with all that stuff and wanted to race it?? Would they disqualify you?? Just a few thoughts. The G Grind cam is like $120 and the new distributor is a hundred or so. Well. That concludes my questions. Peace.
