Help Needed - 1985 BMW 318i Rev Limiter

Looking to adjust the factory setting of my Rev Limiter on my 1985 318i (ITB).

I've heard that there are articles on the web on how to raise the redline on this motor.

Is there anyone out there that has done this and has step-by-step documentation on it? Would the limiter be eliminated all together, or just raised? I ask this because I also have an MSD box from my old e21. How would this play in the equation, since I used to be able to control the rev limiter in my 320i with a chip?

Thanks in advance.

Dave

According to the Tech Data on the model:

Fuel Injection: Bosch L-Jetronic electronic fuel injection
Exhaust Emision Control: 3-way catalytic converter, Lambda sensor
Breakerless Electronic Ignition
Electronic Idle Control

OK, Probst calls that a LU-Jet in his book. RPM limitation is done by cutting the # of pulses per rev so that fuel is 1/2. There are a number of schematics on the net and mods listed although the URL escape me right now. It's an analog system, many cars use the L-Jet, principle is the same. There is no EPROM, IIRC it is a one resistor change. I vaguely recall an Alfa mod for that.
