Has anyone had any experience with this car? I have an ITE project with a Mazda bpt motor i'm finishing up, and considering the parts car for ITA...can it be competitive?

There's a handful out there. A couple are in the northeast. If no one else responds I can send you their emails offlist.

Thanks for the reply Diane! Great website too!! I'm excited to see both rally and road racing on the same site, I also race both out on the west coast. I came so close to building an ITB escort and taking on the VW's which seem to be dominant out here. I ended up with a $100 91 escort gt parts car and found a good running 92 for next to nothing so I jumped on them. The challenge I'm having is finding some affordable struts that will work with the higher spring rates. Have any ideas?? Thanks again!

Hi Jim, thanks for the kudos. I really have to work on the site, neither of us ran this year so it's been a bit quiet on that front. I have a bunch of pix I've been meaning to scan to. Something to do in the cold winter months.....

My goal when building the IT car was to be able to do both rally and race. At the time when I started this project there was talk of allowing a class at the Maine Summer Rally that would allow IT cars to run, so I wouldn't have had to compromise with rules (as the car was to be firstly a track car). By the time I finished, rally entry fees up here went over $500 an event, stage miles went down, and I just didn't feel it was worth the investment to get the rest of the gear I needed (codrivers seat, computer etc). And we felt I'd be better off with a completely different suspension so there was more $$$$$$$$$$$$

Needless to say I haven't even done a rallyx up here, so I've stuck to the track and a couple of ice races.

WRT suspension, we went with Leda as Tim had such good luck with them on the Nissan. Affordable is all relative!

I've had people tell me the quotes they've gotten from Leda for 2Gs Escorts are much different than what we paid. The 2G suspension is pretty different than what we have. A Honda guy also got Ledas and paid a similar price to us, so it's not like we got a killer deal on them.

Here is the site, Karl is a great guy to work with: http://www.racersedge-inc.com/

Good luck!
