Even though the intructions for installing the Tokico struts said in big bold letters DO NOT USE AN IMPACT WRENCH I still had to but I set it low and tested the setting on a similar size nut with a torgue wrench. It was not easy to consistantly get the 38-42# they wanted and I still don't feel good about it.
I'm thinking of making some soft jaws for Vise-Grips out of Al bar stock by boring a hole and then bisecting it with the bandsaw. I could grab the rod and torque the nuts.
Or I could do whatever sounds like the best idea you guys have.
