Is this Right!?!?!?!

Looking at DLBracing it looks as if entry to Moroso in Nov is 350.00!! Plus 60 for a second driver and 100.00 for anything after Nov 1!?!? This is only a Sarrc/regional!!
Does that seem out of line? Maybe I'll just do the Trot.

My guess is that it is right. With the recent purchase of the facility and huge development/renovation costs, I'm not surprised by that price.

As CFR racers, we are spoiled by extremely low entry fees. The PTB have the ability to negotiate great deals with Sebring and Daytona largely due to the generosity of our corner workers-by staffing Pro races. (point there, thank a worker and donate a little $$ to the hotel room fund for these guys/gals. )

Maybe with moroso's new facility, a pro race can occur? Doubt it however. Still Cheaper than national racing.

Looking over the supp's it appears there is a 20 min practice, 20 minute qual, 10 lap, and 8 lap races... $350 is still cheap. Cost to run Road Atlanta is typically about $250-275 for each sprint race. That means $500 for a double weekend. Ouch.

Uh, Christian. We haven't had a double (unless you count Pro-IT, and 50% of that goes back as prize money) at Road Atlanta since 2003. Depending on cost increases that may or may not be coming, the Double SARRC we're scheduling for July 2009 will probably be $250-$275 for a single and in the $375-$390 range for the both.

Yep, I was considering a Pro-IT and SARRC as a double "sprint" weekend since they're essentially the same duration. I was trying to point that $350 for a double race weekend isn't at all unreasonable and is more in line with many other tracks.

$350 is a bit pricey, not so bad for the locals because we don't have tow costs, but apparently there are a few folks willing to pay the tab, registration is over 160 now, probably just want to be a part of the "inaugural" run at PBIR. BTW, it is Palm Beach International Raceway now, that is the old name, I guess the owners figured that $18 million and counting gave them the right to name it what they want, and I would have to agree. It is being done right, the track is all brand new, 40 feet wide with tons of run off, banking in a couple of the turns, SAFER barriers, and can you say FAST!!!!!

makes two of us that are getting a bit gray
PBIR ... first raced there in '75 , back when the water hazard (canal) made you think about staying flat in 5th through turn 8

Yes, the fully suited up rescue diver made you think!

On the other hand,, he had a very sharp knife for cutting seat belts!

I remember a wet Spring national at IRP where the ambulance carried an oxygen bottle with a 20' tube on it. Turned out we came close to having to use is when a Vee landed in the pond outside of Turn 1A, upside down with only the bottom of the wheels above water. We got the car upright as the water level started to rise in the driver's helmet.
