Isaac treats

If you are an Isaac user and plan on being at the ARRC, let us know ahead of time. We hope to show up with some Halloween treats.

You can shoot us an e-mail at "mail at isaacdirect dot com", or to me personally at "gbaker at..." to say you will attend.

Also, we must know which pin style you are using. The styles are here: http://isaacdirect.com/images/Product/Pins/Pins.JPG

The sooner we get a headcount, the better.

Treats only, no tricks. Promise.

Thanks to all the Isaac users who let us know they were going to be at the ARRC. We used the occasion to let them trade in their original Isaacs for new ones--no charge. The originals are going to be evaluated to see how they held up after a couple seasons' use. So far they look pretty good.

BTW, if you "use" an Isaac system in the same manner a crash dummy uses it (i.e. you crash) please, please, please return it to us for evaluation. There is no charge for this service.

One user said, "That thing works great. I had two big hits this year." We are pleased that this customer is satisfied, but don't want users getting the impression they can repeatedly beat on their Isaac and expect it to hold up. Same for other H&N products. You should assume they are broken.

Look on the bright side, if you do need to spend money on a new Isaac system, it means you just saved a bundle on funeral expenses.

Ah yes, the ARRC. What a great time! My face still hurts from grinning so much.

Excellent job by the Region. Thanks everyone.

Many many thanks to Gregg for coming and helping out. Even if I didn't get a brandy new Isaac out of the deal (and a free hat, and... etc) it is cool to just get to hang out and eat some great cajun food and drink frosty beverages.

Oh yeah, and there was some racing too.

Man, what can you say about Gregg Baker that hasn't already been said?? I was pretty shocked, (but peasantly so!) when he started undoing my ISAAC right before the race on Saturday.."Umm...hmmm what's Gregg doing over there?", I thought as I changed my carb jets. Of course, no worries...he knows an ISAAC better than anybody! Then I saw him whip out a new one.......a replacement??? WOW...how cool is that??!?!?

Thanks Gregg. Very "standup" as always. A credit to the industry. ANY industry!

An interesting aside here...we were hanging out, shooting the H&NR breeze with him when the idea of leasing one came up. From what I heard, it,s a super cheap way to get one, and be upgraded regulary! Sounds like a great idea...not sure if the bean counters and insurance dudes in his company will allow it... I wonder how many of us would be more likely to get some world class protection if it were so financially painless?

Halloween treat my a$$. How about a new Isaac? So I asked Greg about the upgrades to the new Isaac and he held my old one next to the new one and showed me the differences and explained why they were done and he also mentioned that they were checking for wear on the units. Then he reached into my car and finished swapping them out. Now that's what I call customer service. I wonder if we can get Hoosier to swap out a few of my old tires and check them for wear?

Thanks Gregg.

Gregg - it was nice to finally meet you. Do not be surprised to see an order from me sometime this winter. Bowie and Scott were nice enough to let me climb all over theirs and ask a bunch of questions about their experience with them.

Gregg, are you gonn'a be at the SCCA National Convention this (next) year?? IIRC, the HANS guys were kind'a dissin' the Isaac last time out.

Jeez guys, c'mon. It's not like I was giving stuff away. Well, sorta...

We've already learned some things from the "experienced" Isaac you guys gave up. We get the best ideas from racers, so you all deserve some credit for product improvements.

Now that the group hug is over, here's what really happened...

Da Boss: "Gregg, how's Isaac doing?"

Gregg: "Great!"

Da Boss: "Excellent. So, what does our product look like after a couple years of service in the racing trenches? After all, happy customers are going to be showing these to potential customers."

Gregg: "Uh, well, we're not sure, sir. (Gulp.) I mean, we have several sets of Isaacs we crashed in the lab, and there are usually a few demos lying around from the last time at the track, but everything else is new.

Da Boss: “You mean we have no idea what these systems look like? It sounds like time for a little field work!”

I tell ya, whenever I'm around you guys it's nothin' but work, work, work...

Gregg. Just wanted to thank you for the time you spent showing me the Isaacs Device at the track Sunday. It was a pleasure to meet you. My first trip to Road Atlanta was awesome and the racing was terrific. Thanks to all that were involved.
