Jensen Healey ITS Race Car is "Done"!

Well, it has taken almost one year to the day for Jeff and I to get this car built, inbetween getting my race license, racing a little in Miatas and Z cars, and working on a host of other cars too. Still, a year isn't all that bad and it is "done" for lack of better word.

We loaded it into the trailer today to take it to the suspension shop for alignment and the welder for a side exit exhaust system. We will also lower her down in the front about 1.5" or so, and drop the rear about 1", but after that I'd say she'd be ready to race barring any engine startup issues.

Here are some pictures, but they are high-res and I lost my resizer. Therefore, I've enclosed the links to the pics you can look at if you like. Well, I'll stick one in at the end, the rest you can click on:

And one here, a side view. I hope to have it running on Thursday or Friday of this week and ready for a test day at VIR on August 5th!!!!!

I hope you realize that you could be a victim of your own hard work, when that thing goes really fast, beats the Bimmers, and becomes the PCA poster child of the 2006 season.

Good job.

I don't think I'll be a PCA poster child or awhile despite the car - I've got to learn how to drive. 2006 will be my Rookier year, so we'll see how I do. This year I'll be lucky to race it once and get a couple of things sorted.

We'll know weights and dyno info in a couple of weeks, I'll post them here for folks to see. I hope she'll come in under weight, but that cage is a good one and as such it is well built, and a little heavy.

Ron, car looks really nice, especially the Carolina Cup sticker. Speaking for myself and the rest of the CCPS administrators, it's good to see more cars with our logo on them. Hope to see you out there with us real soon, and good luck.

Big news, well, sort of. Jeff and I took the JH over for annual inspection and the car now has a log book - so, she is an "offical" race car! Still planning on making CMP in August for the sprints and cup race, test day on Friday as well. Still some things that have to be done before she can race, but I am confident I can get or have them done before CMP. I'll post a few "final" pictures of the car once everything is completed.
