Jersey Road Racing Classic at NJMP

The Northern New Jersey and South Jersey regions will be conducting a NJRRS championship series event at New Jersey Motorsports Park. This event is the Jersey Road Racing Classic (JRRC) regional races on the Lightning course on 22-23 October.

The season is coming to an end and it is time to get excited for the "Jerk" (keep your mind on the wheel). The Jersey Road Racing Classic is just around the corner. The JRRC will be season finale for the NJRRS series - NJRRS Points - as well as the last 2011 race in the Northeast Division. One last opportunity to run your car before the winter break / overhaul.

The event schedule has a Saturday morning qualifying session followed by three races for each group. Lots of track time, plenty of racing. Two days, three races - Race, Race, Race!

There will be no separate SCCA Test Day for the JRRC.

Online registration is now open at on the DLB site - Select South Jersey Region as the Club to see the event calendar.

Your annual inspection should be no problem. There is no SCCA track activities on Friday before the JRRC. We normally get into the track around 6:00 PM and I expect Tech will open around 6:30. No need to make an appointment.

See ya at the races

Have to pass this great oppty .- too bad pretty much the entire good ITR group got wiped out with tech defects at the Glen :-(

I'll be on the property no later than Thursday AM, but have clients running on the "other" track on Saturday... But I plan to be harassing you all in the paddock on Sunday! :p :D

For anyone somewhat local who needs to shake their car down, there is a track day Thursday that is open to the public. Its on Tbolt, but its convenient. Let me know if you are interested.

Well my car is fixed and is better than it was before. I want more seat time so I'm coming if I am the only ITR. I'll start at the back and try and chase everyone down that should be fun. Maybe I'll take that track record down a notch weather permitting. ;~)

Hey Dan 17 ITS cars I have a spare SIR at the shop HAHA :p

I'm not sure why all the ITR guys wussed out? ;~) Cutting my enigne out put by 25 to 30% doesn't sound like fun to me. Hey maybe I can borrow Matt Rooks ITS Mazda?:D No matter what I need the seat time and I want to shake the car down one last time, it's going to be a long time before we are in a race car again.

A couple of reminders about The Jerk. Registration for the last race of the year in the Northeast Division will close at 1:00 PM on Thursday, 20 October. If you have already registered or are planning to come to the event, please consider bringing a new coat or other warm clothing to help us help local kids.

The Jersey Racing Board and New Jersey Motorsports Park are dedicating the 2011 Jersey Road Racing Classic to support Coats for Kids. We will be collecting new coats with their tags attached for infants through young adults. We will also accept other warm clothing including hats, gloves and scarves. This clothing will be distributed to under privileged youths in the South Jersey area.

Our traditional lunch time drivearounds on Saturday and Sunday will also be used to support Coats for Kids. All cash contributions from the drivearounds will be donated to Coats for Kids. All signed-in participants in street legal cars may participate in our track tours which start about ten minutes after the start of lunch hour.

The entry looks great in Group 5, 29 cars so far. The rest of the groups all have near 20. Going to be some great racing! The party Saturday night looks to be a good one!

Come on out for one last race, race, race.

I never talk about the weather (being a flagger since 1985 I've seen all of it).

Now that was fun even running where I did. Great job by the Jersey Racing Board putting on a great event. Next year will be even better!

My thanks for everyone's hospitality @ NJMP this weekend had it's ups and downs but was great to BS with Darrell Anthony, Bob Zecca, Terry Hanushek, Val and her husband along with some new people we met. The weather was almost perfect and my congratulations to my friend John Hainesworth for his wins on really old tires, I guess my old tires were a little better than his old tires on Sunday afternoon. We did mnage to get the cam timing a little closer but not 100% Sunday afternoon. Jim Locke did one hell of a job to R&R the head Saturday and doing the cam timing with not a lot of the right tools. My special thanks to him! The workers I talked to were great and the flaggers did a great job too! My thanks to all, what a way to end the season. There is more to racing than the race....

Dan, you really drove the wheels off of that car on sunday! I stopped by to congratulate you but I guess I was too late, so congrats on the Record!

Nice to meet you!
