- If you have an electronic TB and want a manual, send us a request for a case-by-case approval. Do yourself a favor and research a suitable replacement part that does not change performance.
- Some class classifications/clarifications.
- Fixed the lack of verbiage for changing air intake upstream of the throttling device (surprisingly, nothing was in there to allow removal of stock air filter, for example. We follow IIDSYCTYC, too).
- Added IT verbiage for allowing aftermarket parts.
You'll also see many "changes" with my name on them. When STL was added to the STCS in 2011 it created a lot of rules in the main body that said "for STO and STU do this, for STL do that". I was tasked to, effectively, re-write the STCS so that all class-specific rules are within each class' specs. Originally I was going to re-write the whole damn book for 2012, but once I got a full idea of the scope, and realized what kind of work it was going to cause to Topeka to sort it all out, I instead chose to pick 2-3 rules per month, re-write them accordingly, and then have those published under Technical Bulletins. I highly encourage you to read those changes and ensure that I/we have not made a mistake! While these are vetted by both the STAC and the CRB prior to being published, there's always a chance of mistakes. These are not intended to be rules changes, these are simple re-write of the words (rules changes do not go into effect until the next racing year). If you see anything in there that actually results a rule change, please let us know.
