MEMPHIS MAY 28-29 FORMS NOW ONLINE

Wish I could get Chris to boycott this race. The entry fees make me see red. Yes, they are less then St. Louis, but when there is only $5 difference between running both of the regionals and running the reg/national, it reeks of the IT guys funding the National event. Especially when the region has to pay $10/car for the tow fund and a higher divisional trophy fee for the National cars, ON TOP OF the IT drivers getting fewer laps/time on track.

BTW, I hope the schedule gets corrected based on the order of the run groups (okay, so I'm a little a.r. and notice things like that.)

(can you tell it's been a bad Monday morning?)

Too late. Wrote the checks tonight for St. Louis and Memphis (and cringed the whole time).

Lesley, you and Chris can stay home but please send Andie!

I can assure you that there has been zero discussion of your premise and that there is no such intention here. We have maintained the same fee structure since at least 3/02, which is the oldest schedule I have, and have raised fees $15 across the board since then. Whether that was considered in setting the structure way back when I don't know - but I doubt it. But I will pass your comments on the to the Board.

What do you mean re the schedule? Rotating IT from 6 to 1 is not an error.

Bill,
I have better plans for the weekend; I'll be in Shawnee, OK for 4 days of dog shows and agility trials. But Chris will bring Andie. Although he did complain that he didn't see very much of her the last time.

I am all for rotating the groups, and hopefully with IT first and Prod third it will get Chris home before 1 or 2am.

The Sunday schedule:

8:00a 20-minute National & IT qualifying sessions Groups 1 through 6 in order. Followed by a 26-lap National Race for Group 1. (further down) followed by a 20 lap IT Tour Race for Group 6

Since Group 1 is IT, I'm sure Chris will be thrilled. But I don't think the GT cars will be too happy.

Whether or not the fee structure is new or not is a moot point. And I have probably noticed it before, but never said anything. The fact is that it is not equitable. Unless the region is going to make extra donations to the IT tour trophy fund so Rocky can buy something better then the (personal opinion here: crappy) medallions.

That is definitely an error! Thanks for pointing it out.

Chris will be there with both cars.

It is quite possible that we could have a 10-car ITS field! And that would include 3 SpeedSource RX-7s and 2 fast Bimmers. Joining the local S contingent are Nick Chinopulos and Larry Orr (ex-ITC Fiats), who have bought the Wagner brothers' cars.

The weather is looking pretty good - 20-30% chance of isolated thunderstorms but that is not unusual. Temps will be unseasonably cool w/ highs around 80 and chilly nights. I.e. if we dodge the showers it will be excellent racing weather.

Results have been posted on our website - www.midsouthscca.com . Go to calendar and click on link.

Weather turned out perfect - no rain and cooler than normal. Largest and strongest ITS field ever at Memphis. Al Murdock in a 2nd Gen. RX-7 missed the lap record by 22/1000!

Join us 10/16 for our last 2005 event.

Yeah - it was a beautiful weekend, weather-wise!

So, Chris, you were about 6 seconds faster than me - can I go to B now??

You know it's not that simple Norm.

And not until he gets to drive your car (he's in Topeka this weekend).

Lesley - I was mostly kidding.

I realize that he hasn't driven it yet, and it still needs sorting. I either need to go up on the front spring rates, down in the rear, or lose the rear bar. It's still a tad tail-happy (but not like before - where it was neutral up to the limit and then suddenly developed massive and uncontrollable oversteer). Now when it gets loose, it's relatively easy to bring it back in line.

Adding to that - I was running 3-year-old tires, and the driver was definitely not up to speed.

Any possibility Chris could come back to Topeka next weekend? We're having a National MR2 meet, and Sunday is an all-day track day. I can get him all the track time he would like in the car (and he can probably give me LOTS of insight on what to fix!).

<edit: ALso, thanks for letting him bring Andy. She is TONS of help, and a delight to be around! </edit>
