MIDiv MPH Double IT Tour/ Double National August 20-21

Due to the recent flooding conditions at Mid America Motorplex, Nebraska Region SCCA will be holding it's August 20/21 Double IT Tour/Double National event at nearby Motorsports Park Hastings........registration is now open at Motorsports Reg. Join us for a fun filled weekend at a great facility. (also stay tuned for the Mid Am triple bonus regional points Oktoberfest Sprints, also at MPH in October)......SC:happy204:

Come Hell or High Water Double National - Double IT Tour

Now THAT'S an event name! :)

As stated above, this event was originally scheduled to be held at Mid America Motorplex (MAM). But due to Missouri River flooding (and attendant rising ground water levels in the vicinity of same), that couldn't happen... see recent photo of south half of course and paddock/pit areas.

Thanks to a lot of effort on the part of many good MidDiv officials and volunteers, the event is being held at Hastings.

Yes, Ralf... the Blue Brick will be there!

That's really sad to see MAM looking like that.

Hope to see you guys at MPH.

Gary,
Last I saw, Chris is only registered in HP. Andrea must be taking a bunch of stuff to college that is taking up the rest of the trailer. :o

The system wouldn't let me register Chris for both classes; it will be there eventually.

We move Andrea into the dorm on Thursday, and then plan on getting into Hastings early enough to take his Grandma to dinner on Friday night. If her stuff won't fit in my van and her car, then she will just have to get it the next weekend. At this point, the boxes are piling up; you would think she was moving out for good.

Have her ride the bus if she wont fit:D.... Just Kidding...
Take Grandma to the water park! Kiann & I went last week, Grandma will Love the lazy river!

14 group 5 IT entries so far. Outstanding! IT is where it's at folks!!!

I watch a lot of road racing on TV and out of all of the SCCA classes I think IT most closely resembles what I watch. I've said it before but road racing is about multiple classes on track at the same time! See you all in a few weeks! :026:

I need a confirmation on friday practice at MPH. I read the rules and it says liscenced SCCA drivers only, does me still racing on my novice permit exclude me from friday practice? I couldve mailed off and gotten my regional liscence but I had put it off for thinking I would get a few more races on my permit.

I don't think they allow John Deere affiliated individuals to race at Hastings anyway... too bad for you! :D

Seriously - for the purposes of Friday practice, I'm pretty sure a signed off novice permit is an SCCA license.

Anyone receive some type of confirmation we are "in" for the test and tune? Hate to show up Friday morning and be turned away.

No friday practice for me. Still wrenching on the car, I'll just have to get my track time done in our practice/qualifying session that's 1/2 as long as what the other run groups get.

IT has 22 entries, more entries than any other group but instead of a 40 minute qualifying session we get 20 minutes.

Is this normal that we get shorter practices than all the other groups?

Is this normal that we get shorter practices than all the other groups?

The GCR mandates that National races have 45 minutes of practice / qualifying time and Double Nationals 70 minutes of practice and qualifying. There is no comparable rule for Regional races. Typically on a National race weekend with one or more Regional races (like IT), the Regional group gets less P&Q.
