Since creating it, I've been pleasently surprised at the volume of towing and truck related info in this forum.

I have a few questions:
A: What other truck / towing forums / sites do you find helpful and
B: Where are you buying your truck / trailer equipment, parts and accessories??

Whether buying new or used, I always price shop at www.edmunds.com and www.kbb.com.

To find other forums (like Chevy or Dodge specific, or heavy duty specific, etc), just do a google search. There is no end of information out there, most of which just seemed to confuse me further when I was looking for a new truck! :D

www.fordtrucks.com is excellent....and if interested in a good deal on a new Ford truck, look at Van Bortel's offer to members: http://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/showthread.php?t=217560
I haven't personally purchased from them, but have read many good things from some who have, and they have a very good reputation in the Rochester, NY area.

I have found Chevy truck dealers to be very receptive to the Edmunds and Kelly Blue Book "invoice" (supposed dealer price) plus 1%, minus all rebates. For example ignore MSRP, if the stated dealer price is $35,000, add 1% ($350), minus $2500 in rebates, offer $32850, and have the printout showing the numbers to back up the logic in your offer. It might take 2 or 3 dealers, but this has always worked for me as long as I'm willing to walk away from any place not willing to accept this. Sometimes, like during specials, end of model year and certain times of the year, the deals are even better than this. A bit depends on the popularity of the specific model you are looking for - once got a Suburban for $200 under "invoice" (ok, so invoice really doesn't mean much), minus rebates, because it was the end of the year and the 3/4 ton 2WD had been sitting on the lot for quite some time.
