Need recomendation for plugs, wires, and coil for ITA CRX Si

One of the first things that needs to be replaced to smooth out the engine is the plugs and wires. There is also a chance that a new coil is necessary, but I haven't checked it out completely yet. Is there a consensus on these parts, or is this yet another source of discussion. I'm not looking for anything above and beyond, just a good replacement for some old junk. I figured I'd ask before I went and got something, only to find that something else was the standard. Thanks!

The OEM plug wires are not that good in that they do breakdown over time. This will show up as a high speed mess after running in hot climate, near the end of the session. Let the engine cool down and the miss goes away.
New OEM wires work fine as long as you replace them at the begining of the season. There are many sources of after market plug wires. The biggest problem is that they don't feel like they seat properly or give you that reassuring 'click' when you push them on the plugs or onto the distributor cap like the oem plug wires. I bought a high quality universal kit from a speed shop that caters to the roundy-round boys (can't remember the name, but they are used by most of the Nascar boys). These are very high quality kits. They come with everything including a special crimping tool jig. All you need is a shop vise and a razor blade. They were very reasonably priced and they look and feel great. The price for an 8-cyl kit wasn't much more than a 4-cyl kit, so I have spares.

I haven't had a problem with the stock coil, but I would replace the distributor cap & rotor. Cheap insurance.

On all my Hondas I use NGK 8mm plug wires. They fit and perform perfectly. I also use a new Honda cap & button and have not had to replace the coil (inside the distributor) ever. I use Bosch Platinum +4 spark plugs. They are the best.

Thanks for the info, guys. NGK seem to be pretty popular, esp. as far as wires go. Bosch Platinums, eh? Anyone else?

We run the stock NGKs in our ITC CRXs with stock cap and rotor without problems. I have used Magnecor and currently MSD wires with no problems whatsoever.

Good luck
