We've been delaying some of the new features of this site until this new release of VBulliten came out. Now that it is out we will be updating. There may be some downtime some late night soon.

Today, the vBulletin development team is proud to unveil the release of vBulletin version: 3.7.0. GOLD!

vBulletin 3.7.0 contains a plethora of new features, many of which have been long requested by users and customers, while other new features will come as a surprise to everyone. 3.7.0 is slated to be the final major release of the vBulletin 3.x series before all forum development efforts are switched over to vBulletin 4.x, after which 3.x will receive only bug fix releases.

For those interested in such things...here is what will be added, improved, shortly.

Here is a far from comprehensive list of some of the new features making their debut in vBulletin 3.7.0:

* Thread tagging A new way to facilitate searching and grouping of threads, it is now possible for users to add tags to threads they post or read.

* Search cloud / tag cloud
* Thread prefixes
* Reciprocal friendships between users
* User picture galleries with user comment facility
* User-created social groups with invite only and moderated membership options << Good for private topics, sure to enrage the disalusioned and disenfranchised :)
* Extended member profile pages
* Customizable member profile pages
* Inline editing of custom user profile fields
* Lightbox viewer for attached images Clicking on an attached image will now open a lightbox rather than open a new window, with the image scaled to fit the browser viewport.

* Viewable and comparable history maintained for post edits
* Extended re-authentication for inline moderation actions
* Notices system for navigation bar
* New human-verification tools including reCAPTCHA, and question/answer They may choose to use the popular RECAPTCHA™ system, or to define a set of questions and answers for their visitors to deal with.

* User change history
* Social bookmarking integration

And more...
  • Visitor tracking on profile pages
  • Automatic resizing of attached images to match filesize or pixel dimensions
