OPINION ON WET TIRES

Hello...Trust me on this one, but with the changes that I've made for this year, I can only come up with 3 brands of wet tires in the sizes that I need to use in order to have the same style and brand of tire all the way around. These brands are Hankook, Kumho and Yokohama. I'd like to know your opinions....Thanks

I've tried fully treaded Kumho's........... Not fun........ <_<

Hoosiers are fun!!

What size wheel are you running?

17 X 8's for the wets, but it's wheel well size that causes the problem to not be able to use the more common solutions.

Ahhhh, so it's the tire profile that's the issue............ You don't need different rain tires, just a big hammer!!

From your sig and trying to see the picture, is that a Merkur? Was it the one that showed up at the tech last Saturday in Wallingford?? If so, that is a cool car!! Very nice looking too!!

Thanks everyone....225/45's won't fit. I'm running 17" wheels now, and I've already used the big hammer, sawsall and grinding wheel. There's just no more room...
JL....Yes, this is the Merkur that was at tech last Saturday....Thanks..

HMMM Not encouraged by description. The P Zero Corsa is not recommended for driving on extremely wet roads where there is the risk of hydroplaning. This is especially true of shaved or worn tires. Drivers should drive cautiously at reduced speeds in these conditions

That's why I said not really wets... Do work good as intermediate and have rounder corners.

I was running 16" for the wets, but have since upgraded the front brakes to Wilwoods with 13" rotors....plus I wanted wider wheels, which I'm also limited on with my bolt pattern...

OK so not an IT car........... perhaps that opens the field of solutions..........

would a 17X7 wheel by itself fix things

That 4X4.25 pattern is the same as 4X108 which may turn up more choices foir you..........

Well, right or wrong I made a decision... Found the "new" BF Goodrich T/A KDW's this morning and am going with those. 215/40/17 fronts, 245/40/17 rears. The fronts were as close as I could get to my Hoosier 225/40 dries, and the rears are the same. Guess we'll see what happens...

Thanks everyone.....
