I'm in the market for some Autometer gauges as well, so if you have better pricing than Summit, let us all know! Even E-Bay couldn't significantly beat Summit prices!

Have you, or has anyone else, tried the Summit brand gauges? They're in their catalog at the end of the gauge section, and the prices are really right, especially if you buy a set.

Price isn't everything though, if they don't work very well, or don't last, it's not worth the trouble to install them.

Anyone?

TWO WORDS! SWAP MEET! S/W gauges for $10.00 each all the time. S/W are the best by far.

Double check your tire choice...in Hoosier speak A= autocross tire. R= road race tire. I think you mean an R3S03...The hoosier autocross tires will not tolerate road racing (they overheat and wear out quickly).

But I have often wondered if the A might be used as a "Q"...for qualifier!

But the budget won't allow such experimentation, and I'm not nearly near enough to the front for it to be relevant!

No, "A" is what I am looking for. The Cosworth isn't eligible for any Vintage racing (VARA is considering it), so I need tires to run at the Cosworth Club Get Together autocross next summer.

Jake,
Go to the runoffs (or many nationals) and check out what the SSB and C guys are qualifying on...you wouldn't be surprised anymore.

Yes, the front running SSB/SSC drivers ARE using the solo compound in qualifying.

Watch Harry Manning (SSB Champ)in qualifying sometime. He clicks off 2 or 3 hot laps, backs of for a few laps to cool the tires down, gets on it for 2-3 laps, backs off, etc.

I think Toby G. Ran the soft compound in Qual on his pole sitting Acura, but switched to the harder tire for the race, knowing it wouldn't last for the race.

I think they would make awsome tires on a damp/drying track.
