Pocono gearing

Thinking about running the Pocono event in May. Was wondering, with the new configruation, will I "run out of gear" with my 4.73's in my ITA CRX?

I will hazard that you will be a bit short as the typical Final Drive ratio is 3.88 or 4.25 for an L3 transmission (model dependent). The long course configuration will produce top speeds in the 120 range. The South Course is a bit slower as the fast segment is in Turn 1 (IMO). Many of us were over 100 mph before braking for the left into the infield portion.
Hope this gives some help.

Hey there JJohnston. I am not from that region nor have I driven that track. But, I do have a 4.73 final drive in my ITA CRX and we run Daytona. There is just enough gear left going into Turn 1. It is at about 6700-7000rpm depending on a draft at Turn 1. Coming out of the bus stop on the back half of the track to turn 1 is a loooooooongggg way around. I dont think there is a longer straight at any track that I am aware of. Aproximately about 125-130 mph. give or take a few. Hope this helps you out.

Has anybody raced with the 4.2 and a quaffe(opm etc) on a long track. I am thinking of trying it on like Pocono, or the Glen.

Jc-- Have you or anyone out there got a rough idea what the time improvement might be on a typical 2 mile course going from the stock Acura I believe 4;40 to the 4;73 gears?. My car is a 94 GSR and I am in third gear alot and down in the 5 grand range. I realize I will have to use 5th gear
e more. Seems the lower gears should help alot.
