I am currently in the process of cleaning up some wiring in my 86 itc civic and have a quesiton on this wire that leads into the stock honda carb. I guess that it needs to be used with the stock carb or can I get rid of it? What does it do?

It has taken me about 3 weeks to get the bird nest wiring figured out and to look respectable. I am tring to get as many wires as i can behind the firewall to make engine replacement and repairs eaiser (plus look better)

Thanks

Hi,
I do not have any wires to my ITC CRX (85) carb. I have 2 OPM race modified carbs. I paid $300 a piece, but would sell for $300 for the pair. I may be moving to a new class.

That sounds like a great deal! But I have a fresh back-up motor with a webber that I am going to install when I learn how to race!

I will get in touch if I need one.

Ours isn't hooked up, and I can't recall seeing anybody else's hooked up either. Our carb is no prize, but I've checked some of the faster guys, and they don't use it either. Not sure which gray area of the GCR I can justify this under, but I'm calling it an emission control device the first time an inspector asks me about it.

You want to cut the wire off. Also take the unit out and cutoff the plunger and reinstall.

Is that the approx. 1.0-1.5 in. rod that protrudes into the carb from the mixture unit? So I should remove the unit and snip that off?

Thanks.

Speaking of cleaning up the engine compartment, I need to know what vac lines to keep and which ones (hopefully all of them, including the black boxes) I can toss in the trash.

Any info on cleaning that mess of spagetti up would be very appreciated.
