Rob ran a great race but was over the sound limit. He was bumped back to 4th place. I heard a part of the exhaust was knocked off and caused the car to be over the sound limit. The car started legal but ended illegal.

Ben's new car is sweet and FAST! Be interesting once the bugs are sorted. Maybe give Doc and AutoTechnic a good run.

Be interesting to see what happens in September back on this course.

Andy,

I offered to buy your employees a round of WATER at the restaurant in Millville the other night but they did not take me up on it???

Nobody can say I was not thinking about them.

Sincerely,
Bob Zecca

One other question for Darryl: Who broke track records? We don't have seperate ProIT and 'regular' records - do we?

Me, Marc, and Timmah all crushed the existing ITA record. Marc ended up with it at a 1:36.2xx with me 3/10ths behind, 3 sec faster than the previous. It's gonna be even faster in September cooler weather and hopefully a less slick track. I didn't know a front wheel drive car could possibly be sideways so often. :)

I grabbed the ITR record but it's an empty deal since Robert Nimkoff was faster.

I was a 1:34.6xx and he was a 1:33.8xx or so. Don't have the time sheet.

I was happy to lead the first lap of the race in a brand new car on a track unkown to me. That right there put me in a good mood to race. About halfway through I had some clutch overheating problems and had to waive some guys by while trying to get the clutch pedal off the floor. Considered coming in but figured what the hell and kept going, trying to shift as little as possible and dogged it around in 4th. Rob Thiele spun so I started to run harder, made a bobble and Rob passed me back, the last lap of the video is worth watching as I pushed real hard to get up on Rob but didn't have enough to win - he got me by .2 of a second.

Racing in IT is the best - the guys are all class acts and drive the wheels off.

Unfortunately the car has no chance in this class and is totally underpowered - I would not recommend and 968 to anybody...its much to heavy to compete and I will need to send a letter to the ITAC and hope there will be mercy.

I cut off a bunch of video in the middle of the race - 40 minutes of footage is a big file.

Ahhh yes the famous "Phillips pen" is hard at work again!!

Congrats on the record Ben....even in that "slushbox". I'll give ya two more races then we'll see how underpowered it is.

I seem to remeber somekind of pen is mightier than the sword saying....hmmm how did that go??:017:

Did I miss a winky-wink? One race in a car that still has carpeting on the floor and you're declaring the 968 a mutt?

Please tell me I missed a wink.

Ben sends his letters to the ITAC in invisible ink, visible only to those who sympathize.. ;)...expect no breaks!

Only goofing on you guys!!!

- I must admit that the car is good...

Considering that is was the first time out with the car and on a new track to me - I'm still smiling :-)

Crazy Joe - no video dude - don't know why the 3.4gig card was full with only 10 pics. I reformatted the card and it's fine now. Sucks because your footage would have been good.

PS - Hey Rob Thiele - hoping you can post your video - you always have awesome footage. Those last laps running me down should be cool to watch.
