Just wondering...I seen in the GCR in E Prod. an 85-87 Escort. Has anyone ever seen this car or heard of it? Does it still run? Opinion on a 1st gen Escort Production car. Would it be competitive?

Sorry its wintertime and Im thinking all kind of stuff. Just a thought for the future.

I own a GP Escort (1.6).

I let responsible adult friends use it if they are going to school or have nothing to race.

Such cars have tons of potential. Why? because they are relatively modern vehicles and--at least for the GP version--are FULL PRODUCTION rather than LIMITED PREP PRODUCTION cars.

You are only limited by your wallet!

Cheers.

I just keep thinking about later in the future ,what I could do for a project. I think I probably would want to go to a faster class. And if I already have this car, would this be an OK car to go farther with and so on and so on........

Would a 90 Escort GT be something like E Producton?

Just like IT, it needs to be a listed car. If the 85.5 to 88 Escort is so listed, you will have an easier time petitioning than if they are not.

I found that it is listed in E Production. I also was looking around in the prod.racing forum and found out about this guy who is in the S.E. whos name is Stroub Lander II that races an E Prod. Escort. The guy said he was at the Turkey Trot at Sebring in Nov. and this guy was beating up on lots of RX7's and other cars. I checkede out some FLA. Regions and found some pics of his Escort. Then I looked at the results for the races and he did pretty darn good. Came in 3rd in the enduro to a Volvo and a Nissan and beat out a pretty huge field of other cars! He also either won or was in the top 3 of other races I could find. HELL Im all excited now! Check these pics out. There are a few of them if you look around. The #91 car is the E. Prod. car. The #9 car is the ITB car that his dad drives. They look very similar.

That's a mighty nice looking car (It looks like Jon Ricker's ITB EGT).

I'll stand-by what I said before: if it has "full" prod status, it can be a hell of a car!

The only limit is your budget.

Cheers.
