Does anyone know of a dial type prop vavle with the correct threads for a 2nd gen rx7?

If not, and I go with the standard 1/8NPT, could someone tell me what threaded adapters I need?

Thanks,
If it matters the car is a 87?(friends) rx7 w/5 lug brakes.

You need 10mmx1.0 to 3/16 SAE adapters.

It's sooo close, but not quite the right size. They'll thread in, even get tight, but I got nervous knowing it wasn't the exact right size, and brakes is one area I don't fudge with.

On my car, I just had lines made with SAE 3/16 on one end, and 10x1.0mm on the other. I can't make a brake flare if my life depended on it

Cost me 7 bucks each plus shipping.

Thanks Paul! Anyone know of prop valves with 10mm x 1.0 thread?

This is the one you want, as the seven distinct positions will allow you to instantly see where your current setting is. The picture shows the standard version, but Tilton makes a metric version with 10mm x 1.0 thread adapters, the part number is TIL 90-1003. Give me a call if you want one, 800-882-7231.

Chris,

I'll order one if you can get the metric Tilton with the dial. I don't like the lever type because if setting 2 insn't enough and 3's too much I'm (she's) stuck with something less than ideal.

I have the wilwood dial valve and it came with 1/8 npt x 10mm fittings ready to install

7's,

I would be careful with those fittings. The only Wilwood dial-type valve is PN 260-2220, which comes with 1/8 NPT x 3/16" INV flare fittings. Sometimes the 10mm (.393) and 3/16 brake line fittings (which are really 3/8" or .375) can be mistaken for one another and can compromise the seal at the flare. Now if your valve came with 2 sets of fittings, then you are probably okay.

Quickshoe,

I am certain that I can get the Tilton dial-type valve. The part number for that unit is 90-2003. However, it will be tomorrow before I get back to the office and can check on the availability of it. I will let you know in the morning. Thanks.

Just as a follow-up for those who are interested, the Tilton dial-type prop valve w/ metric fittings (PN 90-2003) is available from Tilton in CA on a special order basis. Figure about 4-6 days for shipping to the east coast from time of order. Anyone that wants one can email me at [email protected]. Thanks.

Chris,

She left a message w/someone on Thursday(you were unavailable) who said there wasn't such a PN.

Today, she gets a surprise from UPS! Problem is she says she only left her phone number and address. Don't know who you billed for the part, but she doesn't recall giving the lady a credit card number. She'll call you on Monday to get the payment squared up.

Thanks for the really fast and almost free service!

Sorry, it figures that one of the days I actually leave for lunch that would happen! The number is not listed on our system because it is a special-order item.
