protege LSD ?

I just picked up a nice '92 protege, alomg with all the spare parts is a carrier which I believe is an LSD unit but am unsure of it's origin and condititon. There are no identification numbers so i've posted a pic and any help from the experts on this forum would be greatly appreciated by this mazda noob.
