PS2 GT4?

I didn't think they were going to releas another GT version for the current PS platform. Don't get me wrong, I think it's great that they're going to, and I'll probably order my copy in advance. Hopefully they'll add more 'real' race tracks!!!!

You should see the new wheel they have out for it. They are selling it now, but it was designed for GT4. Still works with GT3, either 180 degrees lock to lock or 900 degrees lock to lock. You can chose. Paddle shifters or a little sequential shifter. Supposably the force feedback is a lot better. Still won't beat the real thing, but for the underage kids like me it's as close as it gets for now.

Who puts this out? Is it Logitech? I have their one for the PS2 and GT3, and it's pretty darn good. Not the real thing, but not bad. Be nice to have something even better!

This forum seems to have a lot of conversation about GT4. Not sure how much of it is real and how much is a wish list.

One post linked to the playstation website, which stated May 1 for a release date. That echoed what Electronics Boutique is listing, as well.

Oops, just found this article: http://www.gamespot.com/ps2/driving/grantu...ws_6089652.html

GT4 will be in fact for the PS2. Not many details on the PS3 as of yet... Xbox2 isn't slated for release until fall of next year(read Xmas shopping season)... latest specs have been 3 processors, 2 threads each with one processor being graphics by ATI. Figure the PS3 will probably come out before XBox2 if possible.

I have played the preiview verison (GT Prologue). It was at Tokyo Auto Salon and at Tsukuba Circuit during a semi pro race weekend.
Prologue is the like the Arcade selection of GT3. A fixed set of cars and tracks.

The game's physics and AI are very similar to GT3. For the road racing crowd, who may want more real world w2w action, GT4 Prologue seems much like GT3. It did seem like the other cars were more agressive in trying to pass and defend. Then again it is the arcade version with the rubber band affect.

I only played the game once. The new wheel is a big improvement over the previous wheel.

My opinion (being a former w2w racer) I think it will make a good game to buy. The ricer-boy in me will enjoy the game.

I got to play the preview several times with the new wheel at the Tokyo Motor Show in October. I was impressed with both GT4 and the wheel. Seemed like nearly every aspect of GT3 was improved in the new version. I look forward to having a wider selection of cars and tracks.
