Quick brake duct hose question

I was at the Lowes race shop today and looked that their HVAC hoses. They have some aluminum 3" hoses. Do people use this as a cheaper solution to brake ducting hoses?

I tried that a few years ago. For the price, it was great!!! Very light weight. If it cracked, I used duct tape to patch it. It doesn't hold up very well, but to repeat myself, for the price.........
