No amount of safety equipment is going to help the driver of an open wheel car who goes into the safety wall at that speed, upside down!
very true, Simon. I agree completely.I have a friend in a FF who came into a turn too hot at NJMP, when the track was brand new. No grass and the verge was all marbles...so no brakes and he hit the tirewall feet first. He walking but will never race again.Other than a H&R and good nomex...not much else he could do safety wise.You're right, some things can't be controlled in motorsport but you can be as prepared as you can be.
