Safe Racing Seat

I would like to buy a new racing seat and am looking for the safest seat for the best value. Anyone been down this road?
 
This is going to be a personal preference. A safe seat is one that is mounted correctly with belts that are also mounted correctly. It's also one that fits correctly. Some people don't like seat back braces, which are required on non FIA seats. The least expensive FIA seat is the Momo Start for around $350. I've had a Kirkey aluminum seat before, now a Momo Start. A seat with a head restraint is going to be safer than one without. My next seat, hopefully this year will be the Racetech 4009 HR.
 
RaceTech has a good reputation. Also consider a custom aluminum. I know Butler makes them, and possibly others.
 
Butler seats are great (and expensive) as long as you aren't prone to gaining large amounts of weight and don't mind driving to Concord, NC to be fitted. I presently use a Sabelt Taurus XL for my big ass (6"4/260). Head protection is paramount in the selection of a seat. I previously had a Racetech seat. Great seat with awesome support but it was too narrow for me so I opted to the Taurus XL.
 
Make sure you sit in what ever seat you buy. Don't just do it for 2 minutes either.
