Scale numbers vs. Min weight

Ok.. Let's say you have a car that comes across the scales too heavy (by about 65-75 lbs). You have 35 lbs of ballast in the prescibed location but your scale numbers are still heavy on the left side. Is it better to get to min weight to the detriment of scale numbers or be overweight in an effort to make the ballance better? (Please, no jokes about firing the driver and hiring a midget to drive the car. Driver weight is what it is!).

I think that less mass is ALWAYS a good thing. Remember that it impacts accelerations in all directions - laterally and longitudinally (both braking and accelerating).

That said, 35 pounds (or whatever) is still less of an influence than the variance attributable to our driving skills. :)
