Separate logbooks for ITA & STL?

Do double dippers have to have two log books? that is does each class the car runs have its own log book?

Or do we just use the one book and log it there? One reason I am asking is there are slight differences in the car prep ( horizontal dash bar in STL & minimum threads exposed at lugnuts as I recall) so an ITA legal car might not pass STL.

Car needs to meet the specs of each (both) class(es) but you only need one logbook. Scrutineering does not use the logbook-listed class as the basis for compliance, it uses your entered class.

Not only to you need just one logbook but you are expressly prohibited from having two logbooks for one car. If you are changing classes tech crosses off the old class and adds the new one. If you are running multiple classes all classes should be listed.

I thought you could run an IT car in ST with no changes, even if they violate an ST rule (dash bar for example).

Greg: Does 9.1.4B3 imply that an ITx car can run in STU or STL without making any modifications?

Does that car then run at their ITx weight rather than STx weight?

This is the section I was looking at:

Any GCR listed IT cars, 1985 and newer, under their current IT
specifications may compete in STU. GCR listed ITS, ITA, ITB,
and ITC cars with reciprocating piston engines of 2 liters and less
engine displacement, 1985 and newer, may compete in STL under
their current IT specifications.

Correct, except for the details:

- Any GCR listed IT cars, 1985 and newer, under their current IT specifications may compete in STU.

- GCR listed ITS, ITA, ITB, and ITC cars with reciprocating piston engines of 2 liters and less engine displacement, 1985 and newer, may compete in STL.

Either must comply 100% with their respective ITx specifications.

Yeah, last year my buddy and I ran our ITR BMW's in STU and were given a hard time because we run 8.5 in wheels... I referred to the rules and stated both cars were In full ITR trim..... They acted like we were making this up...... Real fun weekend. I plan on referring to this thread if given S--t again.

Effective next Fastrack we're moving all the allowances from the front of (and within) the regs to the "Allowances" tables at the end of each class. Should make things a bit more clear for Scrutineering (and competitors).
