T II Hood

hoods

hawke , you have some choices , a flat stock alum hood @ about 26lbs. a flat stock steel hood @ about 56lbs. or a aftermarket flat steel hood @ about 38lbs. hope this helps ralph

Obviously not an exact OE equivalent, so it would not be. but does it matter, really? if you can legally run a lighter, stock hood, then why would anyone's feathers get ruffled by the (admittedly illegal) aftermarket steel hood, assuming it is indistinguishable in contour and fit?

Aftermarket hood politically not correct to use but you can use it who cares,no advantage go for it. (The T II hood no go)

I hope this isn't out of line, but I thought I'd point out that I have an aluminum non-turbo hood for sale, along with a bunch of other FC parts in the Classifieds section.

Umm... why would this be legal?

as already stated technically it might not be, but if your going to start bitching about bodywork then everything better be oem... better buy it from a dealer to make sure otherwise the chinese stuff you can buy for a lot less won't be a 100% perfect match down to the weight. The reality is I think most cars that have been wrecked likely have illegal fenders, bumper, etc. unless they pulled them from a junkyard car or bought from a dealer. Even then you never know for sure unless it has a factory part number. lots of cars in boneyards with aftermarket body panels as they are common in the collision industry. I wouldn't put it past a dealer to sell aftermarket either for the bigger profit margin/quicker availability.
