Only if the ITCS says you can. What kind of car?

No.

The "spec line" in the ITCS lists only 14" wheels for that car so, regardless of what it came with as an option, you get to run 14s.

Blue Steel,

To the best of my knowledge no E30 318/325/e/i/es/is came with a 15" wheel option and the rules require 14". The rules also do not allow for the modification, removal, or change of the air intake system starting at the air meter. Air boxes and filters are open.

I have built and raced BMW's starting with an ITB '84 318i, then an ITS '87 325is. I am always willing to help others race the marque. Please feel free to contact me directly with any questions, rules interpretation, or info. Beat of luck.

actually the E30 was available with 15" wheels, however they were on the 4 wheel drive version. Since that vechicle is not on the spec line, we cannot use those wheels...14" only.

The etk has them listed for all e30's and the Z1

part number 36 11 1 179 066 weight about 16 lbs and it's 15x7 with a 24mm offset

Come race with us in GTS Challenge www.gtschallenge.com You can run what ever size wheels you want, and you can convert to a Mass Air Sensor. Starting in 2004, all of our classes will be based on weight to power ratios. You can run a 2.7 stroker if you want. Feel free to email me directly. [email protected]

There are exceptions but the general rule is that IT cars are classified with the "standard" wheel size. If you can make a case for getting the 15" wheels added to the ITCS, go for it. Until otherwise approved, the "book" takes precedence.

I got told today that, as far as the GCR and Showroom Stock Specs are concerned, there is no such thing as a 1996 VW GTI - regardless of what Volkwagen says, my car is a "Sport", even if they weren't made that year.

The tech inspectors grudgingly accepted that they were the same thing (from a region officer who's a VW tech) and suggested that if there is an error in the book that I write a letter requesting that it be corrected.

I'm in the same boat as you, I guess: If push came to shove, my car could be found to be ineligible.

The 91 318is is classed in ITS - it's the 1.8 liter 16v 4 cly M42 motor that was a one year run. The GCR shows that you can run 15" on that car. I ran one 2 years ago, it's an upper mid pack car, but is really competative against the e30 325i due to its great balance and lighter weight. Just hardly any torque. Now I am having more fun in the e36 325i
