Update on FF driver injured at LRP 6/8

St Francis is a good place for him to be (just on the other side of town from me). A close friend is a medic in one of the helicopters which services both Sharon and St Francis (we was not the transport for Brian). I just called him to let him know what happened, he said St Francis will give him among the best chances to get up and walk home.

Hoping a speedy recovery for him and his family.

Steph, Thanks for the link! Our prayers are with the driver and his family. I also worked at St Francis and it has a fantsatic trauma team!

Thank you for the update as we are all worried when something like this happens. The NE region racing community is pretty tight. I am not sure how it can be done but perhaps something from us to the family might be appropriate. Flowers and or a fund to help with expenses would be nice. Anyone from the region know how to start this.

Thoughts and prayers to Brian and his family.

Dan,

That is a great idea. Please let me know if anything is started and I will do the same if I here of anything. We could create a paypal account for donations which would be pretty easy. We could add it to the NER page if someone from NER would allow it. Not really sure how that works though.

I really hope he gets better. Its terrible to see this happen. I have thought about him and his family everyday since and I have never even met him. amazing how life changes so fast, I wish the best for him and everyone that knows him.

Really people we need to do this:026:
Can someone from NER help us set this account up and publish how to get to the site.
With all the web experts out there someone must know how to do it. I do not.

UPDATE from www.apexspeed.com June 14th, 2012, 12:42 PM

I spoke with my mother this morning, Brian is showing good progress.
He shows no signs of paralysis having reflex and response in all of his extremities.
He has started his reduction in sedation and had the sensor removed for his
intercranial pressure. His eyes react to light with proper dialation and
his fever is almost gone. Hopefully if all continues well he will be moved
back to Connecticut soon and maybe be cleared to have some visitors.
Thanks everyone for your prayers and well wishes.

Great news! Count us in if someone sets up a fund for him. They are still going to need the support. I believe the club picks up a lot/most of the medical, doesn't it? (that's part of our national dues every year)
