Victoria British Rebuild Kits

Anyone ever rebuild a 12A with the gasket/seal kits from Victoria British? Prices look to good to be true...

Hepolite apex seals? I've got more than a few Victoria British parts on my TR-4,prices are good especially at the jobber rate. I would never imagine that VB would sell rotary parts. I'm curious, what are their prices for gasket sets and seals for a 86-91 13B? How many sources could there be?
Brit bits on a Mazda?

Seems like replacing your homes asphalt shingle roof with cardboard box sides!

I can't imagine there being a price difference that could be significant enough to offset the time spent and the risk.

I just received their catalog in the mail yesterday. A gasket kit for a 84-85 12a is $120. Thats just the gaskets, all the o-rings. Everything rubber or soft, but not a rebuild kit... no apex seals. In fact, I cant find anything to do with the rotors in the catalog.

Thanks, all, for your help. I thought a rebuild kit was on the order of $600, and freaked when I saw the price. Gaskets and seals should be it, right?

My first rotary rebuild....But at least I do have Hylomar, ready and waiting!

Dave,

Are you still out there? I'm searching this forum for info about rebuilding a 12A. Today I signed-up for Mazda Motor Sports but they indicate it could be a week or two before approval, before I can purchase parts. How did your rebuild go? Any suggestions that you might share? I'm awaiting receipt of a 2 1/8" socket to get the flywheel removed. Don't know how bad it is inside yet but assume that I need a complete set of gaskets, seals, and maybe new rotor housings (ouch!). What can I do to get thru this as fast as possible as the season is passing me by.

Thanks in advance for any input you care to share.

Scott... was sorry to hear that your motor went south at Gateway. I wanted to shoot the bull with you, but was having starter problems on Saturday, then carb problems, then you were gone Sunday.

On the 2 1/8 socket, just go to a farm supply store ... they should have plenty of them, and probably much cheaper than actual tool stores.

If you haven't already, I'd call the guys at Motorsports and talk to them. I'd bet they'd get you setup w/o the 2 week delay.
