that was the most fun i've had racing yet! group 4 was a blast on both saturday and sunday. there were enough ITC cars for everyone to have a race!
saturday, I started 4th and finished 5th... had I not spun at hog pen on the first hot lap and miss shifted at the entrance to the cut through on the last, I might have had the momentum to finish 4th (Scott and I were side by side at the line!) it was just a great race... back and forth the whole time.
sunday, I started 3rd in class, had perhaps my best start yet (didn't lose any positions
) and had a great race with Stephen Douglas and his Sciracco for many laps. unfortunatly, he got around me and the #8 SSC mazda. also, unfortunatly, i had my first and hopefully last racing incident at oak tree, with the mazda. he was cool about it at the end, and even said he should have let me through to play catch up with the VW... nonetheless, i made a mistake, and it cost me a postition later. lesson learned!
the honda performed well. was much quicker than the cars ahead of me, in the turns. it could use a little more leg in the straights. no complaints here!
if you didn't make it last weekend, you missed one great time!
